And what a weekend!

Saturday: Went to see Happy Feet. If you've seen a trailer, you know what to expect: lots and lots of cute dancing penguins. YAY! ...except...the last 45 minutes of the movie veer to the left and turn the whole thing into a big fat anti-fishing eco-message, and not a subtle one, either. Thus, I am retaliating by eating as much fish as I can this week. Thanksgiving dinner should be mahi-mahi ;)

Sunday: Got up, went to Target... yea, no Wii for Mii yet. Did pick up 3 games and a spare wiimote, which I've been merrily pointing at things. Zelda:Twilight Princess is a lot more fun if you have a Wii between the game and the controller; I have scientific proof!
Daunted in my Wiisearch and wanting to avenge the preaching of yesterday, we saw Casino Royale today. No messages here, folks, except "Don't trust anyone" and "Daniel Craig's chest is HOT." We've been Bondless for far too long(Die Another Day sucked), and CR's a good return to form. Too much poker for me, though...oh well.

And Beyond: Work for three days, followed by turkey and family. Wii-hunt is ongoing. Later!

WAHOO!
What a day. So work is normal, nothing special to report there. I'm driving home(if you can call that much traffic "driving"), windows down, BELLOWING Corey music and feelin' just plain great when I get a phone call.
Her: "Hi, Andrew Bar?"
Me: "Close enough, this is Andrew Bare. Who is this?"
Her: "This is Stephanie from the San Luis Obispo Circuit City... You won our opening day raffle for an XBox 360!"

...you can imagine the rest from there. MEGACOOL! Bryan entered my name in the raffle last night, and it got picked. He picked up the 360 and the two games it came with tonight... I(and he) are still amazed... we DON'T WIN these things. Typically, I'd manage third place in a one-on-one contest...so this is flat-out wonderful. It's in SLO for now, so I'll meet the newest member of our family in January. In the gaming short term, gonna shoot for a Wii on Sunday, wish me luck! Thinkin' some Zelda action and a healthy dose of Monkey Ball to round it out. IT'S A GOOD TIME TO BE ME! =) =) =)

...So I've been needing an excuse to get back to blogging, and there it is: http://vlyandra.livejournal.com/55050.html
We'll see if that link's still valid in a billion years when someone finds this blog on googleplex. So back to it!

RULES:Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.

1) I was DEATHLY afraid of roller coasters until I was about 10 years old. Star Tours, too; that robot scared the hell out of me.

2) Although I'm still pretty much neutral from a sexuality point of view, I'm starting to look around again for the first time in 4 years...

3) Foodwise, I've got some HEINOUS guilty pleasures. I've used a spoon to get the salt out of a microwave popcorn bag before. A lot.

4) For all the talk I give about video games, I've only beaten one Zelda(Link to the Past, this summer) and one turn-based RPG(Golden Sun, 4 years ago). I own about 6 of each.

5) A short list of childhood obsessions I've done away with: Astronomy, Postcard collecting, Photography, Conservation, Rock collecting, and Tennis(although that may come back). I'll add more if I think of them.

6) I still haven't been in another country. I've seen Mexico from across the border, but that's it.

7) I got kicked out of my first preschool for biting. Seriously.

8) I have never watched a porno, and still have zero porn on my computer(kama sutra.pdf notwithstanding).

9) When I get depressed(yes, it still happens; yes, it's different from angry; I do try to make it hard to tell), my favorite way of dealing with it is closing the door, putting on music, and singing/screaming till my lungs fall out. =)

10) I think I'm allergic to horseradish sauce. If not allergic, certainly can't stand it. Took me 4 years to forgive Carrow's for that one.

And that's it! Also, time to leave work, so I'll give a quick HELLO again to the blogosphere, and drive off. Oh, and I tag Dark, Des, Joe, Jew(Yahweh knows how I'll get you to see this and post yours), Ashlee, and the first other person to read this(Comment when you do!). WAHOO!

Ye gods, folks! Don't let me hide from blogging for this long!

When was last posting? Ah, yes. My birthday. Well SHIT a lot has happened. School's started(and passed the halfpoint for the quarter), we've moved into this house, a pair of Magic Mountain trips, a tournament, and a life has happened. First and foremost: the house. Runnning a house is HARD. So many bills.... but we've got it under control(finally). It's nice to drive back to your living quarters, I can't quite explain why. The video gaming wall of DOOOM is back, and improved! The second TV does wonders for the setup, as does the übercomplex wiring goin' on in the back.
Magic Mountain. WOOOOO! Did the second Six Flags run on Halloween. TOTALLY AWESOME. No problems(a little late at places), short lines(both times, actually), and great company. Third trip is November 21... mark your calendars!

It's voting day! YAY! Let's prune that Bush!

If it's still playing in your area, I implore you to see Garden State. I swear, it's changed my life more than most things lately. Excellent film by an excellent actor with a rockin' soundtrack.

Today, my free time(ha! What free time?) comes to an end, as I shall pick up Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 in a matter of minutes. Why do you do this to me during midterm season, Atari? How have I wronged you?

See The Incredibles on Friday! PEACE OUT!

For the first time in 2 or more years, I have nothing to download.

What do I do now? *whimper*

Oyah, and happy birthday to Forrest and me!

I have found a new favorite sport.

Bargain video game hunting.

The last 3 Sundays in a row, I've played this game, first with Joe, then twice with Dave. The nature of the sport is, we drive around the greater Sacramento area, swinging by every game store in sight, finding rip-snorting good deals on games that are old enough to have Social Security payments coming in. It's like Supar Nerd Shopping Extreme, and it's fun as hell. The current record is myself and Dave on August 1, hitting up no less than 17 stores, with 3 others that had closed. All told, the quantity of game-age(I won't tell you, you hafta see it) FAR outweighs the quantity of spent monies(again, not gonna say). Bottom line: I have a new game to play with my free time at home, and damn is it fun.
